It’s Friday! The weekend is almost here. Time for a rundown of all the great content we found this week.
Did you see Joan’s post on Monday about having the “right” spot for writing? You can read it here. And Harmony wrote about digital autographs on Wednesday. Check that out by clicking here. When you’re done catching up with the Story Empire posts, peruse the other industry tip we found for you. Here they are:
- Who Hates Ya, Baby? (bad guys who aren’t the antagonist)
- 10 Secrets of Bestselling Authors (doesn’t guarantee you’ll become a bestseller, but it can’t hurt to try these techniques)
- But What Does He Do? (why your character’s career is so important)
- Essential Online Tools for Writing and Blogging (plugins and software)
- 6 Contrived Plots (how to recognize them)
- Writing Humor (5-minute TED talk on how to add humor to writing)
- Is Your Website Mobile-Friendly? It Should Be. (quick test for assessment)
- Characters Really Tell the Story (character development)
- Book Blurbs and Keywords (tips to craft powerful back cover copy)
- How to Promote a Self-Published Book (9 Basics)
- Fighting Book Piracy (when you shouldn’t, and what to do when you do)
- Color Meanings (using color in fiction and what they represent)
- Self-Publishing (the different vendors and tips you need to know)
- Writing a Substantive Book Review (4 steps plus tips)
- Your Publishing Plan (short and long term goals)
Oh my gosh! I love this list!!!
(Thanks for including Color Meanings for Writers 😀 )

Another great list of sites. I was drawn to the one about keywords and blurbs. I’m terrible at both.

I’m much better at blurbs for others than I am at blurbs for myself. Keywords, however, befuddle me. But I’m determined to learn!

Thanks. I’m glad you found something useful to you, but I can’t take all the credit. We all add links when we find something we think people would like.

Some good stuff here this week, as always. I like the idea of a mini-antagonist or two along the way.
