And Then There Were Six!

Hello, SEers! Story Empire is expanding with two new authors who have joined our ranks. We are excited to welcome Joan Hall and P.H. Solomon. You’ll be seeing more of both on the blog as they settle in and begin sharing posts. In the meantime, check out their introductions below and drop them a friendly hello. We’re delighted by the inclusion of these two spectacular authors!

joan-hall-10-smallerWelcome Joan Hall…

I’m both honored and excited to be a part of Story Empire. Like Craig, I came to writing later in life than many authors, although I knew I wanted to be a writer at the age of ten. Some of my earliest memories are of me asking my mother to tell a story from her childhood or as a young wife. Like my father, I became an avid fiction reader which developed into my love for writing.

I’ve always enjoyed a good mystery and my favorite genre is mystery and suspense. I look forward to interacting with readers and hopefully share some words of wisdom on the craft of writing.

The year 2016 was a banner year for me. In addition to three of my short stories being included in anthologies, I published a novella, The Stranger, and my first full length novel. Unseen Motives is a suspense/mystery, the first of the Driscoll Lake Series. I’m currently writing book two, Unknown Reasons, with plans to publish it this summer. I want to write and publish book three, Unclear Purposes, in early 2018.

P. H. SolomonWelcome P.H. Solomon…

Hello to all the readers here on Story Empire! I want to thank the other author-contributors for inviting me to join Story Empire.

As a bit of introduction, I’m a fantasy fiction author. I’ve been blogging for several years and I’m known in some circles for my how-to posts covering Scrivener which is writing project development software. I’ve always loved reading science fiction and fantasy since I was a kid. When I was a teen I began having story ideas and started dabbling with writing them. However, it’s taken me several decades before the notion of being a writer blossomed into being a published author (thanks to all the opportunities of recent years).

I’m far from an expert on writing but you’ll catch me sharing about the benefits of using Scrivener, maybe some marketing ideas and my growth as a writer – especially using deep point-of-view. I’m very excited to be contributing to Story Empire and look forward to working with everyone and interacting with all the readers. I even have my first “official” post written and look forward to sharing it later this month.

I do have a few books out there which you can view on my books menu here on Story Empire. The main book available is The Bow of Destiny, the first edition of The Bow of Hart Saga. The Bow of Destiny was fortunate to have been named 2016 Book of Year by Fantasia Reviews. I’m currently working on the next book in The Bow of Hart Saga entitled, An Arrow Against the Wind. I’ve also started the third book, The White Arrow. My hope is to complete both of these books this year which may be a bit optimistic but I think it’s entirely possible since both editions are already well underway. My other books include two prequel stories to The Bow of Destiny, Trading Knives and What Is Needed, as well as a stand-alone short fiction entitled The Black Bag.

Well, there you have it, SEers! We hope you are as excited as we are by the growth of our little “empire” and our new members. We’re already kicking around some fresh ideas for 2017 so stay tuned for more Empire-isims as the year progresses. We love having you drop by and share in our ramblings and offerings. 🙂
